Judith repeats herself

One of the auctioneers described Villanis’ depiction of Judith as “rare.”    However, there appears to be a lot of Judith by Villanis up for auction or sale.    Unfortunately, not one of them is the bronze Judith that Villanis exhibited at the Salon des Artistes French of 1898.

Maybe that’s why she still looks so sad.
