Judith goes Japanese, part 2

14 Mar

Judith Hafdahl, “The Kabuki Mask,” Oil on canvas, 24 x 18 in.,

In truth, this is not a portrait of Judith, but it IS a portrait BY Judith. And since it is my blog, I say it belongs because it COULD be Judith.  The mask COULD be a severed head and she DOES have a Big Ass Sword.  And the right amount of sass.

Plus I needed a little Eastern influence within the collection.

Maybe there is regret? The story never says she personally disliked Holofernes – he was simply a threat to her community. Judith could have had conflicting emotions. Or not.
